about

I am Research Fellow at the Institute for Sociology, Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava, Slovakia. My research focuses on the political economy of housing and space.

In my work, I examine housing from a comparative and historical perspective. Broadly, I seek to understand how political processes occurring on different scales shape the production and consumption of housing. My book published with Akadémiai Kiadó in 2023 explores the long-term evolution of the extent and form of parental support in young adults’ access to housing in Hungary. My papers on related topics have been published in the Journal of Urban Affairs; Housing, Theory and Society; and Housing Studies. In 2021, my paper “Conceptualising the conservative housing regime” won the Bengt Turner award for the best paper by a junior scholar presented at the European Network for Housing Research annual conference.

I received my PhD in Sociology from the Corvinus University of Budapest in 2021. I also hold an MSc in Urban Studies from Université Libre de Bruxelles (as part of the 4Cities programme run by six European universities) and a BA in International Relations from Corvinus University. Between 2018 and 2025 I worked as Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic and Regional Studies in Békéscsaba, Hungary. I was also a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute between 2022 and 2024 in Florence, Italy.

Before and during my PhD, I worked on housing issues in the public and nonprofit sectors, as an urban planner for the Municipality of Budapest and then as a researcher and advocacy specialist for Habitat for Humanity Hungary. Outside of my academic work, I continue to work as a consultant on housing policy.
